Really enjoying Serbia and it’s been particularly interesting to read a bit more about the recent history of this region.
A few noticeable changes: lots of wild dogs that hate bikes! (I’m becoming quite good at reading dog body language, but there have been a couple of close shaves with some very territorial furry friends), the Danube River is very cold, the alphabet as we know it has disappeared and Serbian people have been incredibly friendly.
Susie was only taking some ‘holiday’ time to cycle with me for 10 days and unfortunately is due to leave from Sofia in a couple of days. I gave her some artistic video filming freedoms for this video….enjoy!
Nice one Kez. Enjoying the updates. Keep at it!!

Hi Kezia,
We haven’t met but I know Helen from the Friday morning sewing classes. I think you’re very brave to do this and I’m glad you have company for this part of your trip. When I was younger I always wanted to do one of those overland trips to Nepal but none of my friends wanted to go & I didn’t want to go with people I didn’t know! I’ve since been to Nepal twice, 1 of our sons in law grew up there. His parents went out on the Hippie trail and stayed! I’m enjoying your accounts of your journey. Good luck and stay safe.
Best Wishes,
Jane

Hi Jane, thanks for your message. Not sure about brave but it’s just something I wanted to do and the time seemed right – although maybe I should stack up that bravery for later on in the trip!! Glad you ended up going out to Nepal, what an amazing country.
My friend left this morning so I feel my next part of the journey has now started. Next stop Istanbul! Thanks again. All the best, Kezia

Glad to see you’re still going. I’m driving a similar route in summer to Bulgaria to drop off my sons car so he can drive it back. Might also get a spot or orienteering in. Good luck.
